A very special hump day show with Headband & Starbird!!

Doors 8pm Music 9pm

Craig Brodhead’s Headband is a Hartford, Connecticut based ensemble specializing in varying styles of improvisational music. Fronted by Turkuaz guitarist Craig Brodhead, it features a varied and rotating cast of musicians from the Northeast including members of Trey Anastasio Band, Dopapod, Max Creek and West End Blend, among others. The group specializes in re-imagining familiar music through an improvisational lens as well as unearthing forgotten gems from classic jazz and funk records from bygone eras and then rounded out by Brodhead’s eclectic original compositions. With its deep bench of music school sticklers and funk scene ringers The Headband is equally ...at home in an intimate jazz club or a Halloween house party kegger and anywhere in between.

This show Headband will be - Craig Brodhead (Turkuaz), Bill Carbone (Max Creek), Jeremy McDonald (Louis Cato Band) & Fraser Campbell

Starbird is a Burlington, VT based band with strong Pennsylvania roots that strives to seamlessly blend instrumental compositions and grooves with a subtle hints of twang. After working with each other in American Babies, Cabinet, and numerous side projects, the urge to play music together was undeniable. The band features guitarist Justin Mazer, bassist Dylan Skursky, and Al Smith on drums/keys/percussion, who have individually performed with Cabinet, Holly Bowling, Steve Earle, Soule Monde, Billy Martin, Calvin Weston, Electron, Greensky Bluegrass, Brad Parsons, Superhuman Happiness, Bob Weir, Jackie Greene, and more. Together as a group is where they prefer to shine, playing anything from funky grooves to surf and delicate ballads, ambient noise jams, and twanged-up Telecaster rockers. They’ve played music by Grant Green, Fela Kuti, and Philly soul group the Stylistics, but are focused on composing original material and uniting people through sound and dance.
