Wayward City is a five-piece alternative rock outfit hailing from New Haven, CT and Puerto Rico. Formed in late 2015, Wayward City exploded onto the Connecticut scene by releasing a series of live, studio performance videos that blur the line between hard rock and post-rock. With an earnest focus on songwriting, the group couples ethereal guitar textures provided with driving drum-and-bass rhythms to build an eclectic atmosphere through which singer David Torres' haunting but uplifting voice truly soars.
So far in 2017, they have wrapped up their newest single "New Liberation" which was the last completed work done with guitarist, Dean Purificato and released it as a single that included a music video shot entirely in 360°. Currently, they working to release a couple more songs by the end of the year and with the strong and catchy rhythms provided by Ted Freeman and Andrew Wells, combined with the complex guitar texturing from Giancarlo Rodriguez and the newest addition the band, Craig William, you can rest assured that Wayward City is working hard to capture the hearts of new listeners everywhere!
“Listening to Wayward City’s debut EP is like standing up through a sunroof, at top speed after a great day. Driving fuzzy bass, layered effervescent guitars, drumming executed with technical precision, all adorned with theatrical vocals that make a compelling experience with each repeated listen. The sweepingly epic sound continues throughout the EP and challenges anyone to not make Wayward City their new favorite band. This is an absolute must listen for anyone who enjoys rock music.” - Inside Indie CT
Oak and Ash:
Hailing from New York City, Oak & Ash formed in late 2014 and set out to change the landscape of the Pop/ Rock scene with a variety of soulfully written and performed original records. Their explosive anthems, soaring guitar solos, soulful vocals, and recognizable pop song structure, has been compared to a mix between Kings of Leon, Maroon 5, and Coldplay. In August of 2016 they were named the winner of Newsday's Battle of the Bands contest and in early 2017 they were named the winner of Bon Jovi's "Opening Act Contest". Just over two years after its formation, the group has booked renowned venues such as The Gramercy Theatre, Irving Plaza, The Paramount Theatre, Webster Hall, and most recently Madison Square Garden, opening for Bon Jovi. In July 2015, the band released its debut EP, titled “Slightly Reckless” and is set to release a second EP in early 2017 that will include their newest single "Step Into The Light".
