The Mushroom Cloud is an explosive funk rock quintet from New Haven, CT, consisting of guitarists Paul Harris and Ben Malmed, Jon Linger on saxophone and Electronic Wind Instrument, bassist Charlie Mazur, and Russ Harris on drums. In the summer of 2012, the then four-piece band recorded their debut album, Launch Sequence, a seven track recording of all original music. Now they are working on their sophomore album with their exciting new lineup, to be recorded before summer this year! Influenced by a huge spectrum of artists, The Mushroom Cloud blends funk, rock, jazz, disco and psychedelia into cleverly written passages of music, intermixed with powerful improvisational jams, enjoying anything that swings and grooves.
TMC has been captivating audiences across the Northeast for the past 3 years, sharing stages with top of the line artists such as Dopapod, Consider The Source, Twiddle, Earphunk, The Mantras, Boyd Tinsley of Dave Matthews Band, Aqueous, Elephant Wrecking Ball, and more. Things are just heating up for TMC and the future is looking as bright as a nuclear blast!
